ONE PRESENTATION UPDATE ON BRUSHY CREEK AMPHITHEATER, PROGRAMMING OPERATIONS PRESENTED BY THE DIRECTORS OF CHAOS.

GUYS, HOW'S, THANK YOU EVERYBODY.

UH, YEAH, THANKS FOR HAVING US.

WE'RE GONNA KIND OF RUN YOU THROUGH, UH, WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON THIS YEAR AND TALKING ABOUT SOME EXCITING NEW STUFF COMING UP.

UH, YEAH, FOR THE, FOR THE RECORD, CAN YOU GUYS GO AHEAD AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF? OH, YEAH, SURE.

I'M TIM PPO, ONE OF THE CO-FOUNDERS.

UM, WE CAN GO PAST THIS ONE.

SO, YEAH, I WANTED TO START WITH, SINCE WE GOT SOME NEW FACES HERE, JUST KIND OF GOING OVER WHAT THE ORIGINAL PARAMETERS OF THE CONTRACT WAS.

SO WE HAD, UH, CITY COUNCIL, UH, GAVE US APPROVAL, THANK YOU AGAIN ON APRIL 20TH OF LAST YEAR.

AND WE GOT THE CONTRACT EXECUTED BACK IN MAY.

UM, THE WAY THAT THE CONTRACT WORKS FINANCIALLY IS WE DO NOT TAKE A MANAGEMENT FEE OR AN OPERATING ACCOUNT FROM THE CITY, UM, IN EXCHANGE.

UH, SO BASICALLY WE'RE FUNDING THIS PRIVATELY AND SELF-FUNDING EVERYTHING THAT WE'RE DOING ON OUR END.

AND IN EXCHANGE WE PROVIDE 15% OF ALL OF THE REVENUE CENTERS AFTER EXPENSE AND A $3 PER TICKET FEE.

SO EVERY TICKET WE SELL, $3 OF THAT GOES DIRECTLY TO THE CITY OF HU.

ANY BUDGET THAT CAME FROM US TO THE CITY WAS KNOWN AS A REIMBURSABLE BUDGET WAS ORIGINALLY 150,000.

AND THAT'S SPECIFICALLY USED FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS, UM, WHERE WE WOULD PURCHASE AND THEN BE REIMBURSED, UM, WHERE WE'VE, UH, WORKED OUT NEW WAYS OF DOING THAT AND LOOKING BACK INTO THE FUTURE SINCE IT WAS A LITTLE CUMBERSOME.

UM, BUT THAT'S KIND OF THE OVERALL WAY THE FINANCES WORK.

SO FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES, UM, THAT'S THE DEAL.

UH, SO THIS IS KIND OF WHAT WE'VE DONE THIS YEAR.

UH, SO CHRIS, DO YOU WANNA TALK TO KIND OF THE BEGINNING OF THAT? YEAH.

SO WHEN WE FIRST PITCHED TO THE CITY, UM, WE WEREN'T AWARE OF THE ACTUAL SITUATION OF THE VENUE FROM WHERE IT STOOD.

WE THOUGHT IT WAS A LITTLE BIT FURTHER AHEAD, HAD MORE DATA, HAD MORE MARKETING STANDPOINT AND STUFF.

HOWEVER, WHEN WE TOOK OVER THE CONTRACT, THAT WAS NOT THE CASE.

UM, FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN WE WENT TO RUN OUR FIRST FACEBOOK AD META WAS LIKE, WE NEEDED, YOU'RE GONNA BE CHARGED $10 A DAY UNTIL WE FIGURE OUT YOU'RE NOT A ROBOT.

'CAUSE IT'S NEVER RUN ADS THROUGH BRUSHY AMPS PAGE.

SO THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF HURDLES.

UM, I WOULD'VE BEEN ON THE, THE ENTIRE PROJECT A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY AS OPENING A BRAND NEW VENUE RATHER THAN COMING IN AND TAKING OVER A PREVIOUS CAPTAINSHIP PER SE, YOU KNOW? RIGHT.

AND SO KIND OF, THIS IS A, NOT AN INCOMPLETE LIST, BUT A LOT OF WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING.

SO YEAH, RIGHT IN THE BEGINNING WE WERE TRACKING DOWN OLD MASS DOCUMENTATIONS, TRYING TO RESEARCH PAST OPERATIONS.

WASN'T MUCH THERE.

UM, BUT, SO BASICALLY WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING IS KIND OF BUILDING EVERYTHING FRESH, NEW AND FROM SCRATCH.

UM, AFTER THAT WE STARTED CREATING THAT APPROVAL PROCESS ABOUT THAT REIMBURSABLE BUDGET.

WE CREATED AN RFA FIVE.

UM, WE ALSO GOT THE LIQUOR LICENSE FROM THE PARK.

THERE WAS MISNOMER THERE.

UM, WE HAVE A BEER AND WINE LICENSE SINCE THE SPACE IS NOT ZONED FOR MIXED BE, THAT IS SOMETHING WE'D LIKE TO ADDRESS IN THE FUTURE.

UM, BUT THAT TOOK A LITTLE BIT, UH, OUT OF THE REIMBURSABLE BUDGET.

WE WERE ABLE TO SECURE, UM, BOX OFFICE FACILITIES AND STORAGE CONTAINERS BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY STORAGE AT THE PARK.

AND THAT'S PRETTY MUCH THE MAJORITY OF WHAT WE PULLED OUT OF THAT BUDGET.

UM, OUTSIDE OF THAT, WE DID A VARIETY OF SITE IMPROVEMENTS.

WE PURCHASED A BUNCH OF THINGS PRIVATELY ON OUR DIME LIKE TENTS, HAND TRUCKS, JUST BASIC NECESSITY FOR BARS, ALL THAT KIND OF STUFF.

WE ALSO GOT A STRATEGY, UH, LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP WITH SQUARE WHO ALLOWED US TO ACQUIRE, UH, THE POINT OF SALE SYSTEMS FOR THE CONCESSIONS OPERATIONS OUT OF THERE.

WE ALSO TOOK PART IN ASSISTING WITH OPS PRODUCTION AND CONCESSIONS FOR THE 4TH OF JULY EVENT, AND DONATED A BUNCH OF EXTRA BUDGET, UH, FOR THE PRODUCTIONS WE CAN GET.

COOL NEW PHOTOS, ICE WATER, ALL THAT KIND OF STUFF.

UM, THEN WE, WE ALSO BUILT AND FLESHED OUT THIS DOC SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT WE'LL BE ROLLING OUT IN FEBRUARY FOR ANYONE THAT WASN'T IN THE ORIGINAL SESSION.

THE DOC SCHOOL PROGRAM IS SOMETHING THAT WE DO AS PART OF A COMMUNITY INITIATIVE TO OFFER, UM, REAL WORLD EVENT TRAINING AS WELL AS JOB OFFERS.

UM, THIS YEAR WE DID RUN A JOB THERE IN ADVANCE OF THE FIRST SOFT LAUNCH EVENT AND HIRED, UM, ABOUT 20 TO 25 LOCALS TO START.

SO THAT'S WHAT THAT'S ALL ABOUT.

WE STARTED WORKING

WITH ISD TO START LAYING OUT THE ACTUAL SHUTTLE PROGRAM AND HOW THAT WOULD WORK.

UM, BEGINNING TO, UH, PUT TOGETHER THE NEW WAY OF RENTING THE FACILITY AS A PRIVATE BUYER.

UM, THAT'S FOR A CORPORATE OR LOCAL LEVEL.

UH, CREATED ALL THOSE DECKS.

UM, LIKE WHEN WE SAID, WHEN WE, UH, STARTED THE CONTRACT, LIKE WE DIDN'T HAVE PHOTOS, DRAWINGS, SO WE'VE MADE A LOT OF DECKS, MARKETING DECKS, PRODUCTION DECKS, ALL THAT STUFF.

CAD MAPS, SCRATCH CAD MAPS.

WE'VE HAD THE WHOLE PLACE REDONE IN 3D.

UM, WE CREATED ALL OF OUR BACKEND.

UH, WE WORKED ON OUR AUDIO PARTNERSHIPS TO MAKE SURE WE'RE, UH, ABIDING BY THE SOUND ABATEMENT POLICIES LAID ON THE ORIGINAL DEAL STRUCTURE, UM, WHICH OUR LAST SHOW ACTUALLY HAD THE LEASE AMOUNT SOUND COMPLAINTS AND THE HISTORY OF THE VENUE.

ONLY ONE, WHICH IS GREAT.

UM, YEAH, THIS IS ALL KIND OF BOILERPLATE.

UH, WE STARTED WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CITY, GOT ALL THE VENDORS IN THERE.

UH, WE ALSO STARTED SPEAKING WITH THE ENGINEERING FIRM THAT ORIGINALLY BUILT THE STAGE TO DISCUSS HOW THE WEIGHT LOADS AND CAPACITIES WORK.

I KNOW THERE'S A CIP COMING UP.

THAT IS ONE OF THE ISSUES THAT IT IS RATED LOWER THAN WHAT IT NEEDS TO BE IN ORDER TO DO EVENTS AT THIS SIZE.

SO FOR NOW WE'VE COME UP WITH A LOT OF CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO GET AROUND THAT.

BUT IF YOU WANNA START DOING THOSE BIG, BIG, BIG SHOWS, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WILL BE ABLE TO ADDRESS GOING DOWN THE LINE.

SO, UH, IF YOU GO TO A FESTIVAL IN A PLACE THAT DOESN'T HAVE THAT MANY PEOPLE IN THERE, CELL PHONE SERVICES KIND OF TEND TO GO DOWN.

THIS IS ONE OF THE WAYS WE'VE LEARNED TO MITIGATE THAT.

AND I HAVE A ANOTHER POINT TO TALK ABOUT AT THE END ABOUT CELL PHONES.

UM, YEAH, WE PUT TOGETHER A LOT OF THESE THINGS.

WE GOT THE SHOP TO NEW INSURANCE POLICIES, WHICH CAN BE PRETTY ROBUST FOR EVENT BASIS IS.

SO WE WERE ABLE TO WORK THROUGH THAT AND GET A REALLY GREAT INSURANCE POLICY.

IT'S A $5 MILLION A YEAR AGGREGATE, PLUS THE ABILITY TO PULL EVENT LEVEL INSURANCE, UH, TALKING ABOUT SPONSORSHIPS.

ANOTHER ONE OF THE PINCH POINTS HERE WAS THE, WHAT TOOK SO LONG WITH THE LIQUOR LICENSE WAS IT WAS, WE DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT ZONING FOR IT AND THEN THE MAILBOX WAS OUT OF DATE.

SO WE HAD TO DO ALL THAT IN ORDER TO MOVE OVER THE, UH, SALES TAX CERTIFICATES AND ALL THAT.

SO THAT KIND OF SLOWED US DOWN AS WELL.

UM, THEN WE'RE WORKING WITH LOTS OF, UH, DIFFERENT VENDORS IN TOWN.

UH, WE STILL DO OFFER FREE SPACES FOR HU BUSINESSES TO, UH, SELL AND INVENT FOOD AND OTHER WARES ON SITE.

WE JUST OPERATED OUR FIRST SOFT LAUNCH EVENTS TO STUDY OUR DATA POINTS AND STRESS TEST.

AND NOW WE BOOKED THIS LARGER BILL, WHICH I WILL GET INTO IN A MOMENT CALLED SPIRIT OF ORAIN.

UM, AND THAT'S IDEALLY SOMETHING WE'D LIKE TO DO ONCE A YEAR.

WE ALSO, THE JOB FAIR AND RECENTLY ATTENDED THE CITIES AND SOUNDS CONFERENCE AND WE'RE STARTING TO WORK VERY CLOSELY WITH THE TEXAS MUSIC OFFICE ON BEHALF OF BRUSHY CREEK AMPHITHEATER.

SO THAT'S KIND OF, THIS IS SOME OF THE RENDERS THAT WE'VE BEEN BUILDING TO SHOW.

THIS IS KIND OF WHAT THE SHOWS ON THE EIGHTH AND NINTH ARE GONNA LOOK LIKE.

BIG LARGE SCREENS, NICE AUDIO ARRAY.

WE'RE GONNA HAVE LIVE CAMERAS SO EVERYBODY FURTHER BACK IN THE CROWD CAN SEE.

AND, UH, JUST BRINGING THAT LEVEL OF PRODUCTION INTO THE SPACE.

UH, NEXT YEAR WE WILL BE DEBUTING A SEATED MODEL AS WELL, WHICH IS ALSO GONNA HELP INCREASE SALES AND CHANGE THE WAY THE TICKETING WORKS.

AND WE'VE GOT A VARIETY OF SEATED MAPS THIS WAY THAT ARE BUILT OUT IN OUR ACCESS TICKETING PLATFORM.

SO THE TEST EVENT, UH, NOVEMBER 4TH, WE PUT ON THE FIRST EVENT UTILIZED SMALLER ACTS IN ORDER TO STRESS OUT THE DATA POINTS, ROLL OUT THE POLICY, AND PROVIDE ONSITE TRAINING FOR THE NEW HIRES AND DIAL IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS.

EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY AND SHOWED US WHERE WE NEEDED TO KIND OF PUT DIFFERENT MEASURES IN SO WE CAN, UH, OPERATE LARGER SCALE EVENTS PERFECTLY.

AS MENTIONED, LOWEST AMOUNT OF SOUND COMPLAINTS SINCE THE ITERATION OF THE VENUE, ONLY ONE COMPLAINT.

AND THAT WAS THE HOUSE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE STAGE, UM, WHICH WE ARE, UH, GOING TO REACH OUT TO THAT PERSON AND TRY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.

AND THAT'S ALL BECAUSE WE USE THIS, UH, SMART L ACOUSTICS ARRAY SYSTEM WHERE WE CAN CONTROL POWER INTO DIFFERENT SLICES OF THE EQUIPMENT SO I DON'T HAVE TO PUSH IT AS FAR OUT HERE.

SO, UH, YOU KNOW, WE PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER AND HAD A MILLION DIFFERENT NAMES AND WE ENDED UP GOING AFTER A SPIRIT OF ORDAIN TO, UH, HONOR ADAM ORDAIN THE PARK AND EVERYTHING HE'S DONE, AND TRY TO MAKE IT SOMETHING THAT PUTS HU ON THE MAP, NOT JUST FOR COOL MUSIC, BUT CONCEPT AND APPRECIATION, UM, AND CAN REALLY HOLD HIM AND EVERYTHING HE DID TO A GREAT STANDARD AND KIND OF JUST PUT A RESPECT LEVEL OUT THERE.

UM, SO YEAH, WE, WE PUT THIS TOGETHER AND PEOPLE ARE RAVING ABOUT IT.

SO THAT'S GONNA BE VERY HELPFUL FOR US.

AND THAT IS HERE, UM, THAT IS ALSO COSTLY AND, UH, DID ADD TIME IN ORDER TO START TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY ROLL OUT SHOWS THAT HAD THE CAPABILITY OF BEING FINANCIALLY SUCCESSFUL.

UH, THERE WASN'T REALLY A LOT OF, THERE WAS NO CONTENT.

WE DIDN'T HAVE LIKE PHOTOS, ANYTHING.

THERE WASN'T ANY MANUALS, SOPS.

SO WHEN THAT HAPPENS, HEY, YOU HAVE LOWER FOLLOWSHIP, BUT B META SPECIFICALLY THROTTLES HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CAN SPEND.

SO WE WERE ABLE TO WORK THROUGH THAT WITH SOME OF OUR CONTACTS AT META TO INCREASE THAT.

AND AS WELL AS STARTING TO BOLSTER THE EMAIL LIST, WE INHERITED ABOUT 3000 EMAILS.

SO WE BASICALLY HAD TO KIND OF START THE VENUE MARKETING REGARDLESS OF THE SHOW FROM SCRATCH.

UM, AND AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THAT PREVIOUS SLIDE, WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WORKING.

SO WHAT WE'VE DONE IN THE, ON THE MICRO SCALE IS PUTTING TOGETHER A SMALL INTERNAL TEAM AND BROUGHT IN ADDITIONAL VENDORS.

WE'VE GOT PHOTOGRAPHERS TO TAKE PHOTOS OF THE SPACE EMPTY AND USE THAT TO BUILD ALL THESE DECKS.

WE UTILIZE THE FLU Z SHOW, WE PUT ABOUT $10,000 INTO THAT.

WE'RE GONNA BE PUTTING ABOUT 70 TO $80,000 INTO MARKETING FOR THIS NEW ONE.

UH, WE DID GET ACCESS TO OUR TICKETING CLIENT.

UH, UM, THE FACT THAT WE'RE WORKING TOGETHER AND THEY'RE ALSO, UH, IN THAT PRESS RELEASE TALKING ABOUT THIS EVENT.

UH, WE'LL BE UTILIZING THE LARGE BUDGET TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE VENUE IN ADDITION TO THIS EVENT.

SO THIS WHOLE YEAR IS REALLY UTILIZING THESE SHOWS TO GET PEOPLE TO KNOW HOW COOL THIS PLACE IS, WHAT IT CAN DO AND THAT IT EXISTS.

UH, WE GOT THE BUSINESS VERIFIED FROM META, WHICH HELPED US INCREASE THE SPEND LIMITS AND INCREASE THE SPENDING CAPABILITIES.
