BEFORE I CAME TO THE CITY OF HU I WORKED FOR A NONPROFIT, UM, IN THE AUSTIN AREA DOING FUNDRAISING, SPONSORSHIPS AND DEVELOPMENT.

SO I WAS REALLY ABLE TO GAIN A LOT OF EXPERIENCE WHEN IT CAME TO, UM, STARTING FROM SCRATCH WITH AN EVENT AND, UM, GAINING SPONSORSHIPS, REALLY CULTIVATING AND FOSTERING THOSE RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, UM, AND TURNING THOSE RELATIONSHIPS INTO LONG-TERM DONORS, LONG-TERM, UM, SUPPORTERS OR SPONSORS.

SO, UM, THAT'S JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE, UM, IN THE NON-PROFIT, IN THE FUNDRAISING WORLD.

UM, SO TODAY I'M JUST GONNA GO OVER MY APPROACH WHEN IT COMES TO SPONSORSHIPS AND THEN WE'LL GO THROUGH THE PACKAGE, LOOK AT THE TIERS AND HOW I'VE CREATED THEM, UM, AND THEN ALSO LOOK AT, UM, ANOTHER PART OF MY POSITION OF ALTERNATIVE FUNDING.

SO, SUPER EXCITED TO SHARE THAT WITH YOU GUYS.

UM, SO, UM, THROUGH MY EXPERIENCE, THROUGH MY, UM, EDUCATION WITH THE CITY OF HU AND MY LAST ROLE OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH, I WAS REALLY ABLE TO GAIN, UM, A FULL KNOWLEDGE AND DEPTH OF HU AS A WHOLE AND HOW OUR COMMUNITY IS SO PROUD OF OUR EVENTS AND IT REALLY, UM, EMBODIMENT OF WHO WE ARE.

UM, SO I REALLY WANNA SHARE THAT WITH OUR STAKEHOLDERS AND WITH OUR PARTNERS WITHIN THE CITY.

SO, UM, SHARING OUR STORY, SHARING OUR VISION IS, WILL ALWAYS BE THE TOP PRIORITY, UH, UM, TO ME.

SO LEVERAGING MY EXISTING RELATIONSHIPS, BUT ALSO TO, UM, CHANGE RELATIONSHIPS AND THEN MY SKILLSET.

SO, UH, THAT WILL ALWAYS BE THAT FIRST STEP.

UM, AND THEN ALSO TOO, JUST LIKE LEARNING WHAT OUR PARTNERS BUDGET LOOKS LIKE ON SPONSORSHIPS.

SO DO THEY HAVE A CERTAIN SEASON WHERE THEY, UM, BUDGET FOR SPONSORSHIPS OR IF THEY HAVE A, JUST A FULL SPONSORSHIP CALENDAR YEAR PER SE.

UM, SO SUPER EXCITED THAT WE'RE NOT START STARTING FROM GROUND ZERO BECAUSE WE DO HAVE REALLY WONDERFUL PARTNERS, REALLY WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE CITY.

UM, SO REALLY JUST DIGGING INTO THOSE RELATIONSHIPS, LEARNING MORE ABOUT THEM, UM, SEEING WHERE THEY WANT TO, UM, CONTRIBUTE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

SO, UM, REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

SO AS I DO THAT, JUST, UM, IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL SPONSORS.

WE HAVE A REALLY, UM, WE HAVE A LOT OF STAKEHOLDERS COMING INTO THE CITY, WHICH IS REALLY EXCITING.

SO LEARNING WHO THOSE STAKEHOLDERS ARE, UM, AND THEN WHY THEY'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT HODO OR WHAT SPECIFICALLY ARE THEY PASSIONATE ABOUT, HODO, IT COULD BE THE PARK SYSTEM, IT COULD BE EVENTS, UM, ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

SO, UM, REALLY LEARNING AND LEANING INTO THOSE PASSIONS.

UM, SO AFTER THAT, JUST LEARNING HOW PEOPLE LIKE TO BE RECOGNIZED.

UH, WE'RE ALL HUMANS AND WE ALL FEEL VALUED AND RECOGNITION DIFFERENTLY.

SO LEARNING, UM, HOW THAT STAKEHOLDER WANTS TO BE RECOGNIZED IN MY EXPERIENCE.

SOME, UH, SPONSORS WANTED THEIR LOGO OR THEIR BUSINESS NAME ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT I'VE ALSO HAD EXPERIENCE WHERE SOME PEOPLE DID NOT.

SO REALLY MAKING SURE THAT WE AS A CITY ARE HONORING THAT IF THEY ARE GIVING US THAT SPONSORSHIP DOLLAR TO US.

UM, AND THEN THAT JUST GOES INTO RECOGNITION OF LIKE MAKING SURE THAT WE ARE FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH RECOGNITION OF THAT SPONSOR, MAKING SURE THAT THEY FEEL VALUED, UM, AND THEN A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY, A PART OF THEIR, THAT OPPORTUNITY THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO BE A PART OF.

UM, SO AFTER REALLY

LEARNING IN OR LEARNING ABOUT THOSE PASSIONS, DIGGING INTO THOSE RELATIONSHIPS, UM, SHARING OUR REALLY EXCITING NEW MENU.

UH, MAKING SURE IF FOR TAX PURPOSES WE HAVE THAT, UM, INFORMATION TO THEM AVAILABLE IN A GOOD TIMELY MATTER.

UM, SO THAT'S KIND OF MY APPROACH, BUT REALLY IT HAS TO DO WITH A LOT ABOUT THAT RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND THAT CULTIVATING OF THAT RELATIONSHIP, UM, AND KEEPING THEM, UM, IN THE LOOP.

SO WE, WE WERE ABLE TO DIP OUR TOE A LITTLE BIT AND, UM, MIDWAY AND SKYBOX, UM, HELP SPONSOR THAT CRAWL.

SO SUPER EXCITED TO GET THEM IN FRONT OF, UM, A SHORTER VERSION OF THIS MENU, GET THEIR FEEDBACK, UM, BECAUSE IT'S SUPER VALUABLE.

UM, AND JUST REALLY EXCITED TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING THIS YEAR FOR DIFFERENT OPPORTUNITIES.

UM, SO THAT IS KIND OF MY APPROACH, SOME SUCCESS STORIES.

UM, SO ONCE CHENEY PASSES OUT THE ACTUAL BOOKLET, THE SPONSORSHIP BOOKLET, YOU'LL NOTICE, UM, EVERY OPPORTUNITY HAS DIFFERENT, UM, SPONSORSHIP LEVELS.

AND SO, UH, JUST A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THESE LEVELS OR TIERS IF YOU WANNA USE THAT.

I KIND OF USED MY PAST EXPERIENCE WITHIN A LOT OF MARKET RESEARCH.

SO, UM, I LOOKED TO SEE WHAT A LOT OF DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS WE'RE DOING, UM, AND I THOUGHT THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST WAY TO KICK OFF THIS SPONSORSHIP SEASON.

UM, SO EVERY EVENT, DEPENDING ON HOW LARGE THE EVENT IS, UM, BUDGET HAS TO DO WITH IT AS WELL.

UM, SOME EVENTS MIGHT HAVE THREE TIERS, AND THEN SOME MIGHT HAVE FOUR.

UM, SO THAT'S HOW WE ARE KIND OF STARTING OFF THIS YEAR.

AND THEN YOU'LL NOTICE THAT THE FIRST YEAR IS GONNA BE KIND OF LIKE YOUR PRESENTING SPONSOR, UH, THAT HAS THE MOST PERKS.

UM, AND THEN GOING BACK TO WHAT OUR STAKEHOLDER PASSIONS ARE, WE'VE ALSO ADDED, UM, ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN OUR PARKS.

UM, BUT THEN GOING BACK TO PART OF MY OTHER, OR ANOTHER PART OF MY ROLE IS ADDITIONAL FUNDING, SO, OR ALTERNATIVE FUNDING.

UM, WITH MY ROLE, WHICH I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT, THERE IS A LOT OF OPPORTUNITY OUT THERE, A LOT OF MONEY LEFT ON THE TABLE THAT, UM, CAN REALLY BENEFIT OUR COMMUNITY.

AND SO A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THAT IS, UH, TRAIL EXTENSIONS, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT WOULD REALLY ENRICH IN OUR COMMUNITY AND THAT WE'VE HEARD, UM, GREAT FEEDBACK FROM OUR COMMUNITY.

SO I'M ALREADY LOOKING AT, UH, TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE AND TEXAS RURAL FOUNDERS FOR THEIR GRANT OPPORTUNITIES, UM, AND MANY MORE.

ANOTHER ONE WOULD BE INFRASTRUCTURE, UH, GRANTS FOR, UH, DOWNTOWN UTILITIES.

SO, UM, I'M REALLY EXCITED TO DIG MORE INTO THAT.

UM, BUT YEAH, THAT IS OUR SPONSORSHIP MENU RIGHT NOW.

UH, IT'S A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY GRANT OR ABOUT THE GRANT, UH, BUT I'M REALLY EXCITED TO GET THIS IN FRONT OF YOU GUYS AND TO HEAR SOME FEEDBACK.

YEAH, I KNOW WE'VE TALKED ABOUT IT BEFORE, JUST, YOU KNOW, WHETHER IT'S A CONTACT THING, MAYBE NOT NECESSARILY FULL TIME, BUT YEAH, DEFINITELY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE GRANT OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL OVER THE PLACE, WHETHER IT'S BIG, BIG OR SMALL.

SO, SO I HAD A, A FEW THINGS, UM, IS A, IT COULD START, I'D LIKE TO SEE MORE ON THE PARKS.

I THINK THERE'S THINGS WHERE SOMEBODY, YOU KNOW, THE SIGNAGE AND ALL THAT, THAT'S GREAT, BUT I THINK SOMEBODY MIGHT, MIGHT WANT TO MAKE, MAYBE THEY, THEY'D ACTUALLY BUILD A PORTION TRIP.

MAYBE THEY WOULD BUILD A, MAYBE THEY'D PAY FOR A PLAYGROUND OR PAY A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF A PLAYGROUND IN THE PARK TO GET AND GET A SIGN ON THAT PLAYGROUND.

SO I'D LIKE TO SEE EVEN MORE OPTIONS LIKE THAT.

AND THEN ALSO THERE'S, I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING RELATED TO THE LIBRARY.

I THINK THAT'S ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY.

AND THEN RELATED TO BOTH OF THOSE, BECAUSE WHERE THE MONEY GOES MATTERS TO SOME OF THE SPONSORS.

AND SO THE FACT THAT WE HAVE THE PARK FOUNDATION AND WE HAVE THE LIBRARY WHERE THEY'RE NOT GIVING DIRECTLY TO THE GOVERNMENT, THEY'RE GIVING TWO CHARITIES AND THAT MIGHT FIT SOMEBODY'S BUSINESS MODEL FOR THEIR GIVING BETTER.

AND SO HIGHLIGHTING THAT WE CAN DO THINGS IN THOSE TWO AREAS THROUGH A CHARITY AND NOT DIRECTLY THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT AND TRYING TO GIVE THEM AVENUES TO DO THAT.

I MEAN, SONY MIGHT SPONSOR LIKE A 3D PRINTER STATION IN THE LIBRARY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, THAT MIGHT, YOU KNOW, BE A NICE THING FOR THE COMMUNITY TO HAVE.

UM, SO, YOU KNOW, WHO KNOWS? I MEAN, YOU KNOW, THAT MIGHT BE A PERFECT THING FOR ASML TO COME IN AND, AND GIVE US SOMETHING LIKE THAT, YOU KNOW, SO, UM, WHATEVER.

SO I, I THINK IT'S JUST BUILDING AND BUILDING AND, AND FINDING MORE, MORE WAYS THAT IF YOU DON'T SEE WHAT YOU WANT IN HERE, THEN LET'S HAVE A CONVERSATION AND LET'S FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS BECAUSE WE HAVE A MILLION THINGS TO DO.
